ADMINISTRATIVE RULE No 886, OF SEPTEMBER 10, 2008
Creates, in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federal District and Territories, the Office of International Cooperation.
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE FEDERAL DISTRICT AND TERRITORIES, using the powers conferred on him by Supplementary Law number 75, of May 20, 1993, article 159, subsection XX,
DETERMINES:
Article. 1 To create, within the structure of the Office of the Attorney General of the Federal District and Territories, the Office of International Cooperation, which shall be charged with assisting the Attorney General in matters of international legal cooperation with foreign authorities and international organisms, as well as in the relationship with domestic agencies focused on their own activities of international cooperation, especially to:
I - to plan, execute and coordinate international cooperation, within the scope of the Institution, as per the guidelines set by the Attorney General of the Federal District and Territories;
II - to establish, maintain and develop relations of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories - MPDFT - with other institutions, both domestic and foreign, in matters of international cooperation;
III - to coordinate, accompany and support the work of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories, within the scope of international cooperation;
IV - to act as a go-between for the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories with similar institutions abroad or with international organizations of cooperation, receiving and transmitting information, subject to the legislation and international treaties;
V - to act, in support of the Attorney General of the Federal District and Territories, in the analysis, preparation of supporting documents and accompaniment of requests for international cooperation coming from abroad or from the Units of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories;
VI - to seek partnerships with international organisms and institutions in matters of interest to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories, especially with regards to cooperation, establishment of agreements focused on professional work and training;
VII - to act in collaboration with the other executive agencies of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of External Relations, to ensure the proper exchanges and international cooperation in matters under the responsibility of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories and to seek exchanges and experiences with the Public Prosecutor's Office of other countries;
VIII - to promote studies, research and events related to its activities and seek partnerships with teaching institutions and research centers to improve the training of the members of the MPDFT, so they can better carry out their attributions;
IX - to exercise other attributions, to be established by the Attorney General of the Federal District and Territories.
Article. 2 The Office of International Cooperation will be composed, without prejudice to their normal attributions, by four Members of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District and Territories, designated by the Attorney General, who will choose, from among them, a coordinator.
Article. 3 This Administrative Rule shall go into effect on the date of its publication.
